OPOTIKI RACECOURSE. SURVEY OF PROPERTY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, this day: ' The Waioeka Jomain, wlach contains the Opotiki racecourse, is at present being surveyed by Mr. Lees, aerodrome engineer to the Aviation Department, Wellington, with a -lev. to establishing an aerodrome at Opotiki. Ihe aerodrome is expected to be the terminus of the Auckland-Opotiki service, and later ; a stopping place on the Gisbcrnc-Auckland route. The site is a very central one, being only half a mile from the borough boundary and free of any .structions. It is expected that the aerodrome -will be placed in the centiv of the racecourse, which is egg-shaped and a mile in circumference, giving good runways in four directions. The sitj is fax enough away from the Raukumara Range to enable 'planes to secure ample altitude before going over the ranges to Gisbome.
