NEW LYNN PROPOSAL.
DISTRICT BUILDING PLAN. A proposal by Mr. F. Carter, a member of the New Lynn Borough Council, that the council should undertake a big district building scheme will bo discussed at a special meeting of the council to be held on Monday evening next. In asking for the meeting last evening Mr. Carter told the council that in his opinion the time was ripe for development work to be undertaken. He had a scheme to place before thorn, which he believed would be a payable one. It would help towards the advancement of the district. "It will be all right as long as it does not place any further obligation on the ratepayers," said the Mayor, Mr. George Lawson. It is understood that Mr. Carter's scheme will be for the erection of a number of dwellings in the district.
