BRITISH GOLF TEAM.

VISITORS ENTERTAINED. Yesterday the Auckland CJolf Club's links at Middlemore saw an unusually large gathering of prominent golfers and other spectators wlio were taking the opportunity of seeing tlie visiting British lady golfers in play. The fresh spring weather and the splendid condition of the links added greatly to the enjoyment of the day's play. The visiting British team and the members of the competing North Island team were entertained at a luncheon given bv the committee of the Auckland Ladies' Golf Club. Low bowls of cinerarias and schizantlius in tones of mauve and deep purple adorned the long table, while the main dining room was gav with English cornflowers and shaded nasturtiums. Masses of flowering cherry blossom, ranunculi and Argentine sweet peas were placed in the lounge and main hall. The members of the British team were Mrs. J. B. Walker, Mrs. I'. ITodson, Mrs. W. Greenlees, Miss .T. Anderson, .Miss Pam Barton and Miss Phyllis Wade. The members of the North Island team were Mrs. R. S. Deighton, Mrs. L. L. Barker, Miss W. Barns Graham, Miss O. Stevens and Miss P. Helean.
