BODY FOUND IN RIVER.
OLD AGE PENSIONER. \ (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. The body of the old age pensioner, Herbert John Tanner, who was last seen leaving his hut near Titoki last Sunday, was recovered yesterday afternoon. H. D. Clough, an electrician employed at the Wairua Falls power station, was walking along the bank of the river seeking a tree suitable for a wireless mast, when he saw the body, caught by a snag, a few yards out in the stream. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
