CANADA'S ELECTION.
Big Setback Expected for Government. FORECAST OF RESULTS. OTTAWA, October 13. Canada goes to the polls to-morrow to select 24;3 members of Parliament from some 900 candidates, representing five parties. Estimates of the constitution of the new Parliament vary. It is predicted that the Liberals will will between 110 and 120 seats, the* Conservatives between 00 and 80, the Reconstructionists (led by Mr. H. H. Stevens, former Minister of Commerce), between 20 and 30, the Social Credit party between 20 and 40, and the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation between six and 10; the last-named party adheres to a sort of Fabian Socialist policy. Should the final results - approximate this organisation, government would be difficult, as Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King is opposed to any alliance with the Conservatives, and Mr. R. B. Bennett is reported to be adamant agpinst making common cause with his former associate, Mr. Stevens.
