HER LAST VOYAGE.
Huge British Liner Sails for Shipbreakers. FAREWELL TO OLYMPIC. British Official Wireless. (Received 0.30 a.m.) RUGBY, October 13. The 45,439-ton White Star liner Olympic left Southampton on Friday evening on her last voyage to the shipbreaking yard at Jarrow. Ships in the harbour sounded their sirens in salute as she passed.
The Olympic, which was built by Harland and Wolff, Limited, at Belfast in 1011, was the largest British-built vessel afloat before the launching of the Queen Mary. SISTER SHIP FOR ORION. ORIENT PLACES ORDER. British Official Wireless. (Received 0.30 a.m.) RUGBY, October 13. . The Orient Steam Navigation Company has placed an order with Vickers, Armstrong, Limited, for a sister ship to the 23,370-ton liner Orion, now on her maiden voyage to Australia after a Mediterranean cruise during which she went to the assistance of thd liner Doric and took tho passengers off after the Doric had been in a collision. The Orion was launched by wireless from Australia by the Duke of Gloucester last December. The new liner is also intended for the Australian mail service.
