COIiE WINS GIiENDOWIB TITLE UNBEATEN IN SEASON'S PENNANT. The finals of the senior and intermediate championships of the Glendowie Golf Club •were played during the week-end under Ideal weather conditions. \y. Tj. Cole, by defeating E. Hutchison, won the senior title for the second time. Ilis unbeaten record in the pennant cointests this season shows that he is a greatly Improved match player. The medal rounds were : Cole, 77 and 81; Hutchison, 78 and 81. By winning from F. Kronfeld 3 and 2 R. Jeffrey gained his place in the intermediate final, which the latter played during the week-end against A. Howey Walker. Jeffrey took the lead early and, playing sound golf, had a lead of three up at the turn. Coming home both fell away, but the first round gave Jeffrey a two up margin. The second round did not alter the position, and Jeffrey held his lead to win on the thirty-fifth. A four-ball best-ball bogey competition was won by Stedman and Kingston, with li card of 6 up. Hockin and MeCrystal were next best with 4 up. The next best cards were those of Griffiths and O'Neill. 3 up ; I-axon and Talne, 3 up; Kennedy and liittle, 3 up ; S. Keys and Bradley. 2 up : and G. Brown-Douglas and K. Allen, 1 up. STEVENS N.S. CHAMPION. The championship of the North Shore Golf Club was finalised during the weekend, when 11. Stevens beat A. E. Browne, 3 and 2, after a keen mateli in which the play was of mediocre standard. The game was played over 36 holes, and in the morning round Browne was 2 up. Browne increased his lead to 3 up at the nineteenth hole, but Stevens' approach shots, which were more accurate than those of his opponent, proved the deciding factor.

Semi-finals of the Intermediate and junior championships were played on Saturday and resulted :—• Intermediate. —S. W. Chambers beat H. Preston, 2 and 1 ; R. White beat 11. Bartlett, 1 up. Juniors.—M. D. Ash beat C. R. Morley, 8 and 7; S. R. Dickey beat W. Badley, 3 and 1. In the third round of the Rainger Cup the results were:—M. H. Bush beat S. Foot, 1 up; C. C. Robinson beat It. G. Duddlng, 5 and 3; A. Halvey beat C. M. Black, 4 and 3; C. R. Morley beat G. E. Harper, 7 and 5 ; R. N. White beat K. D. Anderson, 4 and 2; AV. Mclndoe beat J. W. Morrison, 3 and 1; J. T. McCorkindale beat J. R. Morris, 3 and 2. The four-ball best-ball bogey resulted as follows:—J. T. McCorkindale and B. Mclndoe, 4 up; R. Smallfield and C. C. Robinson, 4 up; H. Stevens and M. H. Semi-finals of the championships:—ln the senior division, L. Bryant, with a good round of 77, defeated A. Wyness, one up, although W. Wyness had a good home run of 37. F. Hazlcden defeated H. Brown, one up. Their medal rounds were 84 and 83 respectively. In the intermediate, F. Preston had little difficulty in defeating P. Griffiths, 4 and 2, but the match between R. Penman and T. Miller went the full 18 holes, the former winning 2 up. In the junior division J. Budge easily defeated A. Rowe, 4 and 3, and similarly J. McKinven defeated E. Snell 7 and 6. A Canadian foursome bogey match played by the other members of the club was won by C. Taylor and G. Ashley (10), 2 up. The following were the next best: —G. and J. Biss (6), 1 up; C. Livingstone and P. Smith (5), 1 up; V. Smith and J. Butler (11), 1 up; J. Campbell and H. Ward (11), all square ; C. Shenkln and L. Caughey (12), all square. MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. The champion of champions event for the South Auckland district will be decided at Hamilton by 36 holes of stroke play on October 27. ROTORUA TITLES. The final of tlie Rotorua Golf Club's championships played on Saturday resulted in a win for F. E. Carr, who defeated J. Clarkin 1 up at the thirty-sixth hole. Carr's win was his fifth in the contest and was due to steady golf throughout. W. Marshall annexed the junior title by defeating G. Denliam 2 and 1 over 36 holes. WHANGAREI CLUBS. The final of the Whangarei Golf Club's senior championship was played over 36 holes during the week-end. D. ,T. Thomson, the North Auckland champion on three previous occasions, defeating R. Gray by 0 and 7. In the final of the intermediate championship. played over 36 holes. A. G. Sheen defeated'W. A. Christiansen. 3 and 1. The semi-final of the junior event was won by M. .T. Lynch, who defeated H. K. Clarke, 2 and 1. Lynch will meet the winner between R. Scott and H. C. Rishworth In the final. The senior championship of the Whau Valley Golf Club was played over 36 holes. R. S. Chalmers defeating R. Hargrave, 4 and 3. In the junior final D. McLeod beat N. Smith, 7 and 6. Miss Z. Phillips won the ladies' championship, defeating Mrs. A. Martin 3 and 2.
