POWERFUL CHIEFS PENETRATE 50 MILES. EMPEROR'S SON-IN-LAW HAS 15,000 MEN. United Press Association. —Copyright. —Ecc. 11 a.m. ADDIS ABABA, October 8. Mr. Monks says that several powerful chiefs, acting on their own initiative, have commenced a daring invasion of Eritrea, where it is reported they are making progress. The Emperors son-in-law, Ras Raile Silassie Engsha, is actually 50 miles inside the Eritrean border with 15,000 men. Ras Kassa, with 75,000 men, is hastening to the relief of Aksum. His warriors are equivalent to the British Death or Glory Boys" (21st Lancers), and once they have started will not retreat.
