CHILDREN'S CAMPS.
CAMPAIGN IN NEW ZEALAND
SALE OF HEALTH STAMPS.
A national campaign to raise funds for children's health camps was inaugurated recently when the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Galway, broadcasted an appeal from Wellington. The Community Sunshine Association in Auckland has proved the efficacy of these camps in recent summers by taking hundreds of children in batches to Motuihi Island, and it has been appointed official organiser of the campaign in the Auckland district.
No direct appeal to citizens is being made for funds, but the campaign will take the form of the sale of health stamps, and a street sale will take place in Auckland on Friday next. From each of the 2d stamps the funds reap Id, and the Wellington Departmental authorities who planned the national appeal hope to raise £10,000, which will be distributed in the various districts. These arc the same as the hospital districts in the two islands, and each district will be allocated a quota from the funds raised. The chief postmaster in Auckland will work in conjunction with the Community Sunshine Association, and postmasters in the suburbs and various parts of the Auckland hospital district will assist.
