STATION OWNER'S CLAIM.
PROLONGED LITIGATION. j (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", Wednesday. The litigation between William Douglas Lyenar, station owner and a former member of Parliament, and the National Bank of New Zealand, which occupied about 10 days before the Supreme Court at Gisborne last month, was continued before Mr. Justice Blair in the Supreme Court here to-day, and is expected to last for some days. Last year plaintiff succceded in an appeal to\ the Privy Council which decided that there was a contract between bim and the bank. Ho is now asking the Court to assess damages for him against the bank because of an alleged breach of this contract, which concerns his Arowhana Station and the bank's advances in connection with the running of the property. Lysnar claims approximately £137,000. It is contended for the bank that the claim is offset by Lysnar's indebtedness to it, which' the bank alleges is greater than the amount he is entitled to claim. , All the evidence was heard in Gisborne. and the' proceedings here consist [of argument un law ami fact.
