RAN IN FRONT OF CAR. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ' WHAKATANE, Wednesday. As she ran from beliind a parked car at noon yesterday, Rachel Stewart, the three and a half-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Stewart, of Domain Road, was knocked down bv a passing car. The driver swerved when he saw the child, and it was only a glancing impact with the rear of the car that threw her over. The child was standing while her mother talked with friends in a car by the kerb and suddenly broke away from the group and ran across the street. She suffered minor abrasions to her head and face.
