OAMARU'S DRY SEASON.
CROPS IN POOR CONDITION.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
DUNEDIN, this day,
That Oaniaru has experienced a very dry year is shown by the fact that only 14.02 inches of rain have been recorded for the nine months of the year to date, compared with 10.68 inches for the corresponding period last year. The rainfall for September was only (52 points and for August and July 82 and 86 points respectively, so that the town is suffering from a severe drought. Tn parts of the district the rainfall recorded is much lower than that of Oamaru and farmers are experiencing a very trying time. Very little sowing has been laid down and the crops generally are in poor condition.
