OAMARU SOCIAL CLUB.
A capacity attendance was present at the fust birthday function of the Oainaru Social C'lub, and the committee responsible have every reason to feel gratified at the success of their efforts. As tlie club is for the purpose of renewing old friendships and the making of new acquaintances, the evening took the form of the old-time conversazione. Representatives were also present from both the Dunedin and Tiinaru Clubs. A large birthday cake (donated by Mi's. F. Williams) was ceremoniously cut by the president's wife (Mrs. A. Rosie). The programme was provided by Mesdames King and Quinn, Messrs. Whillana, Mason, Wells, Trueman and Kitchener. The Monte Carlos were won by Miss R. Albury and Mr. R. McGregor and Miss Walker and Mr. Gifford.
