" LAW AND JUSTICE."
WATCHWORDS OF EMPIRE,
VALUE OF PATRIOTIC BODIES,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, this day.
Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Gahvay were the guests of honour at a reception given at the Hotel St. George last evening by the Wellington branch of the Overseas League.
His Excellency said that in times such as the present, when there was so much international stress, such patriotic bodies as the league were of great value and importance. He spoke of the aims and ideals of the British Empire, and expressed the opinion that as long as the watchwords of the Empire were "law and justice" she would bear a most important part in the momentous decisions uecessary in securing peace among the nations.
