GOOD VOYAGE.

REMUERA ARRIVES.

BIG PASSENGER- LIST.

PERSONALITIES- ON BOARD

One of the best passages in her career was made by the New Zealand Shipping Company's Remuera, which arrived at Auckland this morning, 36 days out from London. Fine weather was experienced all the way. The only incident on the voyage was the discovery of a woman stowaway soon after leaving Plymouth.

Amongst the passengers was the Rev. J. M. Beaufort, formerly headmaster of King's Preparatory School at Remuera. With Mr. A. F. B. Broadhurst he is to be joint headmaster of St. Peter's Preparatory School, which is now being erected at Cambridge. The school will open next February, and will have accommodation for 75 boarders. During his six months' absence Mr. Beaufort lias been investigating the latest teaching methods and equipment in the preparatory schools of England. He stressed the understanding that existed between the boys and the masters in these schools, partly the result, lie said, of small classes. Mr. Broadhurst will arrive from England in December next, accompanied by some of the staff of the new school;

Another passenger was LieutenantCommander J. Head, R.N., who will join the Naval Board in Wellington. lie was accompanied by his wife and two children. Wool Prices. The opinion that prices for wool at the coming sales Mould remain firm, with perhaps a slight rise on the present scale, was expressed by Mr. D. I. Ross, of the New Zealand warehouse firm of Ross and Glendining, who was another passenger. Mr. Ross spent some months in England, anil like other business men who returned by tho. same steamer, lie was of the opinion that Great Britain was prospering. English farmers were making demands on the Government for support and protection in just the same way that New Zealand farmers were, and in fact there was an extraordinary likeness in tho wishes of tho two bodies. The Remuera on this voyage was under the command of Captain F. W. Robinson, formerly of the Opawa, who has relieved Captain Holland. Captain Holland has been transferred to the Rangitata. Captain Robinson was in charge of the Opawa when in July, 1931, she towed the disabled City of Kimbcrley into Auckland. The vessel had lost her propeller 1300 miles from Auckland, and the tow took nine days.
