FIERCE TYPHOON.
75,974 Houses Destroyed and 230 Lives Lost. DISASTER IN JAPAN. (Received 9.30 a.m.) TOKYO, September 27. During naval manoeuvres a fierce typhoon caused a collision between four destroyers and an aircraft-carrier. One sailor was killed and 10 were injured, while 54 others were swept overboard and are believed to have been drowned. A Government communique states that 230 were killed in the typhoon and 105 arc missing, in addition to the 54 sailors. A total of 75,974 houses and 191 bridges were destroyed.
