SPORT IN FRANCE.
EFFORT TO RAISE LEVEL. (Received 0.45 a.m.) PARIS, September 27. Seriously alarmed at France's position in international sport the Government is opening a campaign to improve matters bv building stadiums in order to raise the level of the games. The Press generally fear that France will be unable to find even a moderate* team for tlie 103b Olvrripiad. and some suggest that it would be better to scratch than continue to be beaten.
