NURSERY RHYME CARNIVAL.

Success marked tho carnival dance tendered by the St. Michael's Dance Club at St. Michael's Hall, Belmont, on Tuesday. The many clever costumes of nursery story book characters made judging no light task. The hall decorations, by Mr. C. Eaton, assisted by Mr. B. Hill, were most lavish and artistic, the stage scene evoking tumultuous applause. The entrance of the orchestra, costumed in nursery rhyme characters, added considerably to the novelty and merriment. Miss Joy Verran judged the fancy costumes. The prizes were as follow:—Best nursery rhyme, Miss I. Clark and Miss P. Bogue; best lady, Grecian lady, Mrs. Haywood; best man, Knave of Hearts, Mr. B. Hill; special prize, the Dionne Quintuplets, Mrs. T. Smith, Miss J. McCarthy, Miss 0. Howe, Miss Rogers, Miss Joan Smith. Supper arrangements were in the capable hands of the ladies' committee, comprising Misses C. Eaton, S. Markie, J. Law, J. Seagcrs, T. McCarthy.

Among those present were: : —Mrs. C. Eaton, wearing amethyst crepe silver; Mrs. S. Mackie, rose pink crepe; Mrs. J. Law, black lace; Mrs. T. McCarthy, black satin; Mrs. Alton, Miss Eileen Alton, Two Little Girls in Blue; Mrs. Fleming, Old England; Mrs. Haywood, Grecian lady; Mrs. T. Smith, Marie Dionne; Miss Slago, hula dancer; Miss M. Bogue, Naughty Marietta; Miss J. Tidman, Spanish dancer; Miss Pat Killick, Little Red Riding Hood; Miss Marion Royston, Order of the Bath; Miss Olive Ilowe, Dionne Quintuplet; Miss Rogers, Dionne Quintuplet.
