FIRST ANNUAL BALL.

ENJOYABLE FUNCTION.

The Wellsford Public Hall was gaily decorated on Wednesday when the Wellsford Golf Club held its first annual ball. Yellow and spring green sti-eamers radiated from a central motif, whilst nikau palms and lycopodium were attractively arranged round the ballroom. The supper room also was effectively adorned with, palms and foliage, and the tasteful arrangement of the tables was greatly admired. The guests were received by the president of the elub, Mr. Roy Grant, assisted by Mrs. Grant, who wore a frock of black phantom crepe. Excellent music was supplied by Geo. Poore's "Vagabonds" of Auckland. Members of the ladies' committee present were: Mrs. V. Grant, who -wore a frock of coral crepe and satin; Mrs. F. Newton, silver lace, bi'own georgette; Mrs. R. H. Culpan, saxe blue ring velvet; Mrs. C. D. Smith, Marina blue marocain; Miss Mary Nobilo, blue crepe.
