This statement, "at what instant," covered all promises, whether conditional or unconditional, and was confined to neither time nor place. Did the Kingdom of Israel "do evil!" Yes, in the worst possible way. They wholly turned away from following the Lord, and did worse than the heathen round about them; practiced the vilest idolatry; burned their children in the fire in sacrifice to Moloch; mocked the messengers of God; despised His prophets; and killed them "till there was no remedy." This was equally true both of Judali and Israel. Did they "disobey" Him? .Yes, they departed from all of His Commandments and worshipped Baal, the Sun God, with whose worship the vilest was practiced. Did God "pluck" the Kingdom up? Yes. Did He pull it down? Yes. Did He "destroy" the Kingdom? Yes. This we have already proved in previous articles. What did Christ tell those same people? "The Kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a Nation bringing forth the fruit thereof. Matt., 21:43. Has this become an accomplished fact? Yes. Where are those ancient people? Where God said they would be if they disobeyed. Then .. . will 1 Lst you out of my sight,, and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all nations." lst Kings, 9:10.
