YOUTH FOR TRIAL.
FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. NEGLIGENCE ALLEGED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MATAMATA, this day. A charge of negligently driving a motor car so as to cause the death of a youth, Aubrey Archibald Peddie, was brought against Maurice Condcr, aged 18, who appeared on summons, in the Magistrate's Court, before Messrs; YV. A. Turkirigtoiv and J. Price, J.P.'s, yesterday Evidence was giVen that accused was driving a car from Mataniata! to his home at Hinuera on the night of Juno 29 after attending the pictures, wh-a the vehicle' struck Peddie and his sister, who were' walking along the road. Peddie died from head injuries the following day. ! Accused, who was represented by Mr G. G. Bell, pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
