The position is attributed tp'thc dryness of last season and the lack of nourishment in .many turnip crops. . The meeting resolved that steps -should do taken to obtain an immediate rebate on the railway freight on pressed hay from Canterbury to feed dairy stock, and that the matter should be taken direct to the Prime Minister and the member for Southland.
