CHOIR RECITAL.
ST. DAVID'S ANNIVERSARY. A recital of classical sacred music, given lust night by the church choir, was the first of the celebrations in connection with the 70th anniversary of St. David's Presbyterian Church. Celebrations will be continued until Sunday week. The choir was under the leadership of Mr. Len Barnes; and among the items given were: "Creation's Hymn" (Beethoven), "Call to Remembrance" (Novello), "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" (Bach), "Blessed is He that Cometh" (Qonnorl), "The Wilderness" (Samuel S. Wesley), "Hymn of the Cherubim" (Tschnikowsky), and "0 Gladsome Night" (Sullivan). Two organ solos were also given by the accompanist, Mr. E. S. Craston. They were Schubert's "Serenade" ami "A Sunset Reverie." The final item was "The Heavens Are Tellina" (Hadvn). The Rev. W. B. Black, who presided, expressed appreciation of the work of the choir and referred to its outstanding leadership. Afterwards a social reunion of present and past members of the choir was held.
