SAILING RACE.
INTER-CLUB WHALERS. ELEVEN BOATS COMPETING^ The first sailing race of the 1035-36 yachting season will take place to-morrow afternoon, when eleven local yacht clubfi will compete over d seven-mile course in Naval whalers provided by the Naval Sailing Club, Devonport Base. The arrangements have been made by Lieutenant-Commander J. T. Lean, of H.M.S. Philomel, who is honorary secretary of the Naval Sailing, Club. The whalers will be rigged and ready at the Naval Base, Devonport, at 1.45 p.m. Motor boats will be at the Admiralty steps at 1.45 p.m. to take the competing crewa over, returning after the race. The event will start at 3 p.m. 'off H.M.S. Philomel, and will be sailed over two rounds of a 3V4-milc course to be
decided upon, according to the weather. Keen interest is being taken in the contest, which is the second annual event for a silver cup presented for inter-club contests by the officers of the Naval Sailing Club. A rcplica of the cup .will be awarded to the winning coxswain, and a Naval pendant to the second boat. The following is the result of the draw for boat*?, made at noon to-day on board H.M.S.
