AUCKLAND'S DRAINAGE.
1 lie constitution of our present Drainage Board is the stumbling block in the present impas6e in the sewage problem in Auckland to-day. A Metropolitan Board, as proposed by the Mayor of Mount Albert, is a solution in part; other troubles are due to arise any dry summer. The inevitable must come—why not now? A Metropolitan Board on similar lines to the Electric Power Board should control the supply, storage and distribution of water from source to household and the disposal of sewage from'household to sewer outiall. Water supply and sewage disposal are Altai matters in any city, and the parochial \iew of Small' boroughs should never be permitted to block a complete scheme. I. look to our local plumbing and drainage contractors to come forward as a body and assist to hrini* Ins matter to finality and not leave it to laymen and engineers alone. PLUMBER.
