LIBRARY METHODS.
That article in the "Star" with regard to the Public Library entitled "Behind the Scenes" is both interesting and informative. I quite realise how presumptuous it would be for me, a mere ordinary reader, to even attempt offering advice to such an expert as our chief librarian. Nevertheless, I will, if I may, make a suggestion concerning the purchase of volumes for the borrowing sections, which I have seen appreciatively adopted elsewhere. Forms should be placed in nil Sending departments so that subscribers may place on them titles of new books that they would like to read. This method would indicate the wishes of people. One often sees in "The rimes" Literary Supplement works most highly recommended and some of them should undoubtedly be available at tho Auckland Municipal Library. S. GLADIXG.
