ACCOUNTANTS' SOCIETY.
ELECTION OF COMMITTEE. The annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants was held on Wednesday evening, Mr. D. H. Steen presiding. The annual report revealed that the membership stood at 608, of which 223 members were in public practice and 355 registered. Comment was made on the fact that the third accountants' convention, which was held in Auckland .in February last, had been an outstanding success. Mr. H. E. Strickett was congratulated on the preparation of a thesis entitled "Graphic Charts in Business," which was described by members as a most able contribution to a very important subject. The following committee was elected: Messrs. A. M. Seaman, H. C. Robinson and J. M. Elliffe (councillors) and Messrs. E. D. Wilkinson, D. H. Steen, T. J. Spry and H. E. Strickett. Mr. Wilkinson was elected chairman of the branch.
