THEFT OF CLOTHING.
A middle aged man, William Young, appeared on summons in the Police Court this morning, when he pleaded guilty to a charge of fraudulently omitting to account to the Cardinal Trading Company for a small sum, thereby committing theft and, between May 20 and July 30, with stealing clothing valued at £26, the property of the same firm.
Senior Detective Hall said Young explained to the police that the offences were committed through force of circumstances, as he wanted to return to Auckland from the country. Young had been employed selling on commission.
The magistrate remanded Young until next Monday for sentence, when a report from the probation officer would be available.
