FIELD ENGINEERS.
WARTIME RECOMJSCTIONS. Over 150 members from all over the Auckland province were present on Saturday at the 10th annual gathering of the New Zealand Field Engineers, N.Z.E.F. Mr. N. L. Higgineon, of Okoroire, presided. Mr. D. M. Eae gave a short account of his recent visits to the battlefields of Franco and Belgium, and Mr. A. A. Curry described a trip to Gallipoli. On behalf of members, Mr. Higginson presented an engraved dressing case to Mr. S. T. Carter, who has been secretary of the organisation for the past seven years. Toaste honoured included those of "The King," "New Zealand Engineers," proposed by Captain H. Siiarpe, and replied to by Colonel L. M. Shera; "Fallen Comrades," proposed by Mr. M. K. Draftin; "Navy, Army, Air Force," proposed by Mr. Higginson, and replied to by Commander Willett, Captain W. Murphy and Mr. W. McKillop; "Our Visitors," proposed by Mr. 8. T. Carter, and responded to byCaptain Raej "R.5.A.," proposed by Mr. H. Mcllroy and replied to by Mr. H. Mildon; and "The Aussies."
