KEENEST WORKERS.
WOMEN OF THE CHURCH.
DR. DICKIE'S PRAISE
Tributes to the work of women's church organisations were paid by the Rev. Dr. John Dickie, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand, who was welcomed at a largo and representative gathering of members of the Presbyterian Women's Association in the hall of St. David's Church yesterday afternoon. Mrs. C. E. Perkins, of St. Helier's, presided.
"It would be a bad thing if the Church became a church of womenfolk, and if men did not take part in the services," said Dr. Dickie. "But it would be an equally bad thing if the ladies neglected the Church." The keenest workers we have in oui Church arc women workers, and the minister's wife is as important to hi* congregation as is the minister himself."
The speaker said that he was there as a symbol of the interest that the Church as a whole took in such organisations as the association. He spoke also of the value of missionary work in the training of ministers.
