INTOXICATED IN VAN.
MOTORIST PROHIBITS HIMSELF. Arrested by Constable Rattray in Newmarket last evening for being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor van, a currier. .Tons Bjorvik, aged 51, appeared in the Police Court this morning and pleaded guilty. Sub-Inspector Fox- said the constable first saw Bjorvik at 7.2.-> p.m. stasrcrerinalong the footpath. He was under the influence of liquor, although not drunk. He later mounted his van and started! but the constable ran after him and stopped him. An hour later accused was examined by a docor, who certified that he was in a state of intoxication and unfit to have charge of a motor vehicle. It was his first offence. "We can't have you dVinkjng while you have charsre of *i motor truck, you know. ,, said Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M., to Bjorvik. "If you take out a prohibition order I will not cancel your license." Bjorvik agreed to prohibit himself, whereupon the magistrate fined him £5 and allowed him a week in which to pav.
