(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
INVERCARGILL, Monday.
Sir William Hunt, chairman of the Mortgage Corporation of New Zealand, ■who is now in Invercargill, in answer to an inquiry v/ith regard to a rumour that the Mortgage Corporation debenture issue had been already over-subscribed, stated that the corporation's issue of .0.000, now on the market, would not be closed before the due date, September 10, in order that trustees and others might be afforded reasonable time in which to lodge applications. The policy of the board of management, said the chairman, would be to safeguard the interests of small investors when allotments were made.
