The best efforts of the morning were credited to Wee Machine and' Replica oh the grass and Nimbus and Mountain Dell on the dirt. • On the Grass. Manoeuvre , opened proceedings by running a mile and a half in 3.40, tlie last half mile in 1.13. • She ehowed a lot of epeed, but was inclined to bore on the bends. Spessiva registered 2.21 3-5; while Haerenga Pai took 2.26. It was a really good effort oh the parts of Our McKinney and Spessiva. Edna conceded Captain Bolt 7s and Audo Patch 3s over two miles and beat them 'home in 5.4, the last half-mile in 1.14 2-5. Audo Patch, w.ho was eased up over' the-last furlong, recorded 5.7, his final, half-mile taking 1.15.' Brown Betty "in 2.27, the last t half-mile in 1.14: Brown Betty registered 2.30. Charteris Bay was brought out again later and sprinted half a mile in '1.13. ' Kewpie's Triumph jumped away from the mile and a half post, and after running a quarter, was picked up by Kewpie s Crest, the pair keeping together until half a furlong from home, where Kewpie s Triumph forged ahead to beat his" cont panion by a length. He ran the full Journey in 3.41 3-5, the last half-mile taking 1.11 3-5. Kewpie'e Crest registered 3 6 1-5 for the mile and a quarter and ■I*l2 1-5 for the last half-mile. Kewpie s Triumph was not doing his best over the concluding stages. Slissa, after several attempts, went away from" the mile and a half post, coming home in 3.55. the last half-mile m 1.22. She went well within herself.

The Djrt Track. Nimbus was allotted two miles on the flirt track! He was loafing over the first mile to record 2.25, but speeded up, .ran the last mile in 2.16 and the final four furlongs in 1.6.- -The chestnut- appreciated the excellent going and revelled in his Eliminate (saddle), after running Ws first half-mile in 1:4 3-5, completed a mile away smartly from the mile and a half 'peg, Mountain Dell was .tuned td register 3.30, the last half-mile in-1.6, She&s to be improved after herrace on Saturday.
