JUDGMENT FOR £1000.
RIVERS' BOARD. EMPLOYEE
STRUCK OX HAND BY AXE

HASTINGS, Monday.
Judgment for £1000, to include £91 already received, was awarded by Mr. Justice Reed in the Supreme Court at Napier to Norman Henry Judd, against the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board as compensation for injuries received by Judd when he was struck on tho right hajid by an axe while- in the- employ of the board.
Plaintiff claimed that his injuries, involving the total loss of use of the right hand, were due to the negligence of the board. The total amount claimed by Judd was £3207.
