WEAKATANE.
Mr. F. Barnby, of Waimana, has left for a vacation in Wellington anil llawke's Mr. and Mrs. Eric Jackson, who bare been resident for some time in Whakatnne, loft yesterday for Auckland, where they will live in future. Lieutenant-Colonel U. Miles, D.5.0.. M.C.. N.Z.S.C., Chief of Staff. Northern Military Command, and Captain J. A. M. Clanchan, adjutant of the Waikato Mounted Rifles, visited Taneatua to meet the officers of tlii» Bay of l'leuty Squidron of Mounted Hifles and discuss organisation proposals. Mr. A. Delahunt.v, of the Post and Telegraph staff at Taneatua, has been transferred to Walroa, llawke"s Bay. I'rior to his departure Mr. Delahunt.v was the guest of honour on various occasions, and at a dance he was presented with a leather suitcase. Mr. Frank Chapman, organising secretary to the Workers' Educational Association. Auckland, visited Taneatua, and addressed ii group of the Taneatua brauch, explaining the aims and objects of the association. The Kev. A. D. llorwell has returned from a visit to Hamilton.
