POLICE FIRE ON MOB.
TROUBLE IN THE PUNJAB. ("Tiroes" Cable.) LONDON, August 11. The Simla correspondent of "The Times" states that three people were killed and 47 wounded at Shengani, Punjab, when 20 policemen fired on a mob of 1000 demonstrators against agrarian reforms, including armed Jats. The mob surrounded the police, who were forced to fire in self-defence. Troops have been sent from Delhi to reinforce the State police.
