PINAL GAME AT SYDNEY. METROPOLITAN BEATEN 4—l. SYDNEY, August 11. The New Zealand women's hockey team played its final match in Australia yesterday, when it brilliantly defeated a Metropolitan team by 4 goals to 1 after the score had been 1 all at half-time. The New Zealand team comprised Mesdames Reid and O'Connor, Misses Woolley, McDonald. Maekie, Sanson, Hansen, Saville, McKenzie, Dahlberg and Cotter. With pretty short passing movements the New Zcalanders kept the city team on the defensive almost throughout the second half. Mrs. Reid scored one goal and Miss Cotter three.
