THIEVES ACTIVE.
TELEPHONE CASH TAKEN.
PILLAR BOX RIFLED. Last night a telephone slot cabinet in Richmond Road, Grey Lynn, and a pillai box in Heme Bay were broken open. The cash container below the telephone receiver was forced open and the contents stolen, while the lock of the letter posting box at the corner of Jervois Road and Wallace Street, Heme Bay, was broken off and found lying on the ground. It is not known whether any mail matter was stolen as the box was broken open after the midnight collection of mail.
