WESTFIELD SALES.
MARKET STEADY.
OX BEEF QUOTED AT 26/,
GOOD QUALITY MAINTAINED,
Although last week's brisk tone did not prevail in the ox beef section over the concluding stages of the Westfielj fat stock sale to-day, quotations for these cattle remained steady at 26/ per 1001b. The yarding was more than an average one and included some fine quality cattle, for which there was very keen competition. Bidding was fairly brisk throughout the sale and generally late quotations were realised. Top price of the morning, £11 15/, was received for a well-finished steer from Te Kawa.
Cow and heifer beef again came for. ward in large numbers and competition for the better quality remained firm at last week's quotations.
