TALKS ON POLITICS.
PARTY LEADERS' SPEECHES.
CANDIDATES NOT PERMITTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, tins day. The Now Zealand. Broadcasting Board's policy in regard to political and controversial broadcasts was outlined in a statement which was iseued to-day. The broadcasting of policy speeches by leaders of political parties is having the consideration of the board. In the meantime it has been laid down that a candidate for political honours should not be permitted to broadcast in any capacity, exception being made where a candidate holds a mayoral position and broadcasts in that capacity.
The board, has recently made an appointment to its staff for the purpose of arranging a series of suitable talks, and where subjects are controversial careful supervision will need to be exercised over the matter broadcast from both national and B stations.
