DARGAVILLE NEEDS.
COMMERCE CHAMBER MEETS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, thie day. At a meeting of the Dargaville Chamber of Commerce, Mr. C. N. Taylor presiding, it was decided to co-operate with the Farmers' Union requeeting it to make representations to the Minister of Agriculture «.nd the Minister of Finance that the Government should appoint a veterinary surgeon for this district. Seeking the support of the chamber in obtaining direct accese to Dargaville from Mangakahia, Ilr. A. A. Meyer, a resident of that rietrict for the past 30 years, aeked that the chamber should make representations to the Public Works Department and Mr. Coates asking that Murray's Road should be metalled, linking up the Hobson County roading system with Mangakahia, thus bringing the settlere of that district seven miles nearer Dargaville.
The chamber decided that the president should confer with the Hobson County Council and report back to the chamber.
