The new oil-carrying vessel Moira,, latelv launched on * the Tyne, is the bijrwst all-weVled ship built in England. Not a rivet has been used in her construction, the vessel having been welded throughout by the electric-arc process. Riveting, by hand and machine, *» fast passing out of fashion. So rapidly j is it being superseded in British ship- 1 yards by electric weld'ng that in some districts' it is impossible to find enough workmen skilled in the new kind of, work. 1
