TRAFFIC DRAG-NET.
EIGHTY-ONE MOTORISTS
MAGISTRATE'S COMMENT,
As the result of the cheek made by city traffic officers on June 2. - !, 81 motorists .appeared before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., this morning to answer the charge of driving without a license. Convictions were entered in each instance and the offenders fined 10/ and costs.
Mr. C. Bland, acting-chief city traffic officer, explained that all licenses should have been renewed by June 1, but for the convenience of drivers the traffic office had begun to issue the new licenses seven weeks prior to that date. Motorists had had ample opportunity to renew their licenses, and there was no excuse for the offence.
The magistrate said the most serious I feature was that by driving without a I current license the third party insurance lapsed. Motorists should remember I that.
