AUCKLAND CIjTJB. S. WARD SENIOR CHAMPION'. The senior championship of the Auckland Cycle Club was decided at Paainuie on Saturday la perfect weather. In addition he juniors held a teams' race, and the adies a handicap event. Good fields competed, there being 41 starters. Four teams started in the junior 61-mile :eams' event, the result being a close linish. foe placings were : — h. Mitchell (captain), F. Pearce, M. Cardwell, L. Cunningham, 20.30 1 8. Harvey (captain), J. Stuart, O. Steers, B. Collier, 20.34 i> 0 Banks B. Redfern, B. Sercombe, P. Collier, 20.48 3 li. Cunningham, of the winning team, ,von Mr. A. Freeman's trophy. The women's handicap, 3J miles, remlted •—Mrs. K. Harrison, ser, and fastest ime, 10.30, 1; Miss F. Westbury, 30s, 2; tfrs. S. Fussell, 1.10, 3. Won by two engths. Twenty-two seniors started in the chamjionship, which was divided in to A, B and 1 grades, and a sealed handicap was held n conjunction. The results were as follow: A Grade. —S. Ward, riding time, 53.56, 1; ,V. Pratney, 54.18. 2: F. Prior, 54.42, 3. B Grade. —W. Chlshonn, 54.30, 1; J. Sampson, 55.22, 2 ; K. Rae, 55.20, 3. C Grade.—H. Farrer, 58.19, 1 ; S. Fusell, 59.6, 2; R. Thow, 59.38, 3. Sealed Handicap.—W. Chisholni, 4.15, 1; I. Farrer, 7.0, 2; S. Fussell, 7.30, 3; R. :how, 8.0, 4. \ GLOUCESTER CLUB. The Gloucester Cycling Club heltl two events at Mangere in ideal weather, but a trong head wind slowed up the times. Junior 5 Mile Race (9 starters). —Ernie tarnett (2.30), time 16.30, 1 , Harold tacey (1.15), 15.15, 2; Paddy Sheehan 1.0), 15.3, 3. Jack Bicknell, scr, fastest a 14.54. Senior Event. 30 Miles (17 starters'!.— At. Brass (scr), time 93.32, 1; Stan Wel;r (scr), 93.33, 2; Bob Craig (1.30), 95.4, . Brass also recorded fastest time. The club run to Mercer starts from >nehunga at 9.30 a.m. WAIKATO ROAD RACE. A cycle road race from Cambridge to lamilton, n distance of 14 miles, was conucted by the Hamilton Amateur Sports :iub. The result was :—T. Crawford, scr, ; N. Lentfer, scr, 2 : C. McOnic, 3. Fastest ime: Crawford, 30.50.
