Y.W.C.A. FUNCTION.
HERNE BAY COMMITTEE. A very successful bridge party was held in the Point Erin Park kiosk yesterday afternoon to assist the Y.W.C.A. financial campaign. The organisers were Mrs. J. H. Aitchison, Mrs. J. A. C. Alluin, Mrs. J. S. Miller, and Mrs. W. A. Cooke, members of the Heme Bay committee of the association. Mrs. E. Stallworthy, Mrs. W. E. Morgan, and Miss Vera Taylor assisted the committee. Mrs. A. D. Campbell, president of the Y.W.C.A., in welcoming the guests. stressed the urgent need for such an effort and the desirability of training the girls in good citizenship. After afternoon tea had been dispensed, Mrs. Cooke thanked Mrs. M. Flyrin for her kind offer to organise a jumble sale. The finance organiser, Miss E. Scott, also spoke on the aims of the campaign. The function was a very successful one, the sum of £10 being added to the Heme Bay effort. Four prizes were donated by the committee, and were won by Mrs. J. Torrance, highest score; Mrs. A. Johnson aid Mrs. D. C. Stewart, hidden numbers; and Mrs. J. K. Douglas, 500.
