WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south 'a;. Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton: —
Moderate southerly to easterly winds; weather mainly fair to cloudy, but some showers in eastern area; seas rather rough on east coast, smooth to moderate on west coast.
An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand with its centre over the eastern portion of the South Island. A slight depression is passing to the north of the Dominion, while a rather deep one is still located over south-east Australia. HAITRAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: — Wind, east-south-east, light; sea, smooth; weather cloudy and fine; visibility, good; barometer, slowly falling.
