UNEMPLOYED TOTAL.
REGISTRATIONS INCREASE. NUMBER OF MALES 5/5,508. (By Telegraph.-r-Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The report of the Unemployment Board on the registration of unemployed as at July 0 reveals an increase in the total number of males, who wholly or partly were a charge on the unemployment fund. The present total of 55,508 represents an increase of 2327 on the corresponding figure recorded last month. The number in rcceipt of part-time employment, under scheme No. 5, or on sustenance, in lieu of relief work as at July G, was 38,085, compared with 37,151 in July, 1934, an increase of 934.
Tlie number in full-time employment, but assisted by wages subsidies from the unemployment fund, was 17,483, compared with 23,482 a year ago, a decrease of 5999. This makes a total number, who are a charge on the unemployment fund, of 50,508, compared with 00,033 a year ago; a reduction of 500.">.
