A dwelling containing six large rooms in Ferry Road, Hikutaia, owned by Mr. Sam Smith, senior, was destroyed by fire at 2 p.m. on Friday. The occupier, Mr. Jack Perry, an elderly farm hand, left it at 9.30* a.m. The building was insured, tut the amount is not yet known.
