OUTBREAK OF 'FLU.
LESSENING IN SYDNEY.
(Received 10.30 a.m.)
SYDNEY, this day.
The outbreak of influenza which has gripped Sydney for a fortnight is now considered to be lessening in virulence. When it was at its peak the hospitals could not accommodate all the patients who needed special care. The State Governor, Sir Alexander Hore-Ruthven, and the Lord Mayor, Sir A. C. Parker, are influenza victims. Extraordinary conditions were created by influenza over the week-end. This included\the abandonment of a church service at Taren Point in the metropolitan area, when none of the parishioners arrived, and the cancelling of the military ceremony of the trooping of the colour.
