MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS | CAMPAIGN. I Behind the Scenes in Christchurch. The scene was a large room in a house in Christchurch. Between 20 and 30 people were present. The convener of the meeting, in whose house it' was being held, had undertaken some organising work in connection with the municipal elections. Before he started to address the meeting he walked over to the mantelpiece, on which was standing a bottle of Baxter's Lung Preserver. He took a dose and remarked, "I have been in bed for the last, two days, and as I did not want to miss to-night's gathering I got the wife to get me some Baxter's' this morning, and here I am, feeling much better already."
